Helena McHugh

Helena McHugh is a graduate of the National Academy of Singing and Dramatic Art (NASDA) in Ōtautahi/Christchurch, where she completed a Bachelor of Performing Arts majoring in Musical Theatre. Since graduating, Helena has had the privilege of working within Musical Theate in Aotearoa, and in 2021, Helena opened THESPA: The Space of Performing Arts with her husband, Cameron.

Helena's creative credits include: Director, CHICAGO (NPOS); Director, ORDINARY DAYS, THE LAST FIVE YEARS (4th Wall Theatre). Director/choreographer, CURTAINS, MTI'S ALL TOGETHER NOW! (4th Wall Theatre); Choreographer, SUESSICAL JNR. (NPOS); URINETOWN, LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS (4th Wall Theatre).

Alongside her work as a creative, Helena has spent time training with tutors from Broadway Dance Centre, Steps on Broadway, and Millennium Los Angeles.
